Hybrid or fully electric
A hybrid heat pump does most of the heating through the year and lets the boiler help out when it freezes. In an average 1930s house that saves 50 to 60 percent of the gas. Your radiators can usually stay.
Going fully electric works in a new build or a well insulated house with underfloor heating. The gas connection is then removed and you no longer pay a standing charge for gas.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
In Rotterdam often on a flat roof or balcony. We measure the noise in advance and take the neighbours into account. An outdoor unit on rubber feet and a few metres from the boundary is hardly audible in practice.
